Do we only walk around and sample food?
Absolutely not! Our tours combine architectural commentary, historical facts, local culture and culinary insight into a unique 4 hour experience. Imagine walking through the city eating our local artisans’ most delicious foods while learning about the neighbourhoods from real locals.
Vegan / plant based lifestyle?
We have an exciting plant-based experience that showcases the dynamic vegan food scene in Cape Town. Please contact us for further information on how to enjoy this curated tour.
What if I have dietary restrictions or allergies?
Please be sure and let us know if you (or anyone in your group) has a dietary restriction (e.g. vegetarian, diabetic, allergy, etc.) when you purchase your tickets. As long as we know in advance, we can accommodate your needs. Vegetarians consuming dairy and gluten can be catered for on this tour.

Do I need to purchase tickets in advance?
Yes, advance ticket purchase is required. To maximize your chances of getting the date, time, and number of tickets you prefer, please book well in advance.
What do we do in case of bad weather?
The tours are held rain, shine, or snow. In the event of inclement weather, we will be able to go inside many of the establishments on the tour. We advise that you check the weather conditions for your event and dress appropriately and bring an umbrella if necessary.
Is there parking available?
Limited paid street parking may be available close to the tour’s starting location. We recommend that you take a taxi or Uber to the starting location as the tour ends at a different location approximately 500m away.
Are bathrooms available during the tour?
Yes, bathrooms are available during the tour at selected food-tasting locations.
Does the tour come in other languages?
At this time, we do not offer tours in any other languages except English.
Do you support corporate, or private events?
We absolutely do! We can accommodate a variety of special requests (family reunions, birthday parties, corporate and team-building events, conventions, and more).
What should I bring with me?
Bring a camera to capture the special moments and carry a small bottle of water. When it’s really hot out, we recommend an application of sunscreen and a pair of sunglasses. During the cooler seasons it’s important to wear and an extra layer of clothing. If it looks like rain, please dress appropriately and bring an umbrella if you have one.
Are children allowed?
Yes, provided they are over 12 years of age and book the non-alcohol tour. Identity documents may be checked.
Children under 12 can be accommodated on private tours, please contact us for availability.
If a food tour is sold out, can I get on a waiting list?
We do not provide a waiting list. If a date and time is sold out, there is always a good chance that we will add an additional tour on that day. Please email us to let us know what date you are interested in if you do not see availability.
Do I need to tip?
Gratuities are greatly appreciated, although not mandatory. The standard gratuity in the service industry in South Africa is 10%-15% depending on your experience.
Are tours handicap accessible?
Unfortunately, all the venues on the walking food tour are not wheelchair accessible. Please contact us for special requests.
